Cursor confirmed on August 14, 2026, that SpaceX had completed its acquisition of the AI coding company. The deal followed an April partnership with SpaceXAI to accelerate model training.
Cursor says joining SpaceX gives it access to a much larger fleet of GPUs for training and running coding models. It points to Grok 4.6, released earlier that week, as an early example of work produced together. The company expects the extra computing capacity to help it develop more capable models at lower operating cost.
The announcement does not provide a purchase price, new subscription rates or a timetable for changes to the Cursor editor and its cloud agents. Lower customer pricing remains a company ambition rather than an announced rate change.
