Fixing a pull request after Copilot reviews it can leave old review threads mixed in with problems that still need attention. Now, during a Copilot rereview, comments it considers addressed by the later commit can close automatically.

A push alone does not start the rereview. You request it manually, or enable automatic reviews for new pushes. Comments Copilot still considers unresolved remain open, cutting down the manual thread cleanup after multiple edits. If you apply a Copilot autofix suggestion, GitHub also generates a commit message based on the change.

Copilot's review agent can also use the full set of shell tools in the Copilot SDK, behind GitHub's agent firewall. That includes build commands, tests, targeted scripts, and information from available tools and APIs. Separately, GitHub says Lite reviews now use multiple agents whose findings are combined into one review.

GitHub reports that its ensemble experiments increased the average number of addressed comments per review by 47% for high-severity findings and 31% for medium-severity findings, while cutting review cost by about 8%. Those numbers come from GitHub's experiments. They measure addressed comments, not an independent bug-catching rate.

Auto-resolution reflects Copilot's judgment that the later commit addressed its comment. It does not independently prove the fix is correct.
