Replit introduced a GPT-5.6 Luna mode on August 18 that lets Core and Pro subscribers chat, develop ideas and run everyday Agent tasks without spending usage credits. Free Mode is part of a paid subscription, not a free replacement for every kind of build.

At the announcement, Replit listed Core at $20 a month with up to 30 hours of chat per month. Free Mode usage limits reset every five hours, and Pro subscribers get higher limits than Core users.

Larger jobs can still incur usage charges. Agent may suggest moving a complex task to Power or Max mode. Power replaces Economy mode at the same cost; Max uses higher-performance models for larger changes, deeper reasoning and longer builds.

Replit also redesigned the interface to carry context from chat into creation and across projects. Users can discuss and refine an idea before moving into a build, rather than transferring the conversation from a separate chatbot.
