Meta began rolling out Pocket to U.S. users on August 20, 2026, after testing its experimental game-making app in Brazil. People describe a small game or interactive experience in an AI prompt, then publish the result into a scrolling feed.
The creations, called gizmos, can react to touches and phone movement, play sound effects and include music clips. Pocket can use photos from a user's camera roll or camera. Other people can save a game, remix it into their own version or repost it to their profile.
The app follows Meta's acquisition of the team behind Gizmo, an earlier platform for prompt-made games. According to TechCrunch, Meta is shutting down that original app as Pocket rolls out. Meta has also been experimenting with standalone apps for generated images and videos.
The rollout report does not specify commercial-use rights for the generated games.
