Pocket FM says its annualized revenue run rate reached $500 million in September 2026, up from roughly $250 million a year earlier. Co-founder and CEO Rohan Nayak told TechCrunch that AI now supports 93% of the platform's audio catalog and is used in producing 99% of new content.

Pocket FM calculates that run rate by multiplying its current monthly revenue by 12. It does not represent a year of collected revenue or contracted recurring subscriptions. Nayak said about $415 million of the annualized figure comes from customers unlocking episodes, with another $85 million from advertising.

Human creators still develop story ideas and plots. The company uses its own writing and text-to-speech models to turn those ideas into finished audio, drawing on previous production data and listener behavior. Nayak estimates that production has become about 80 times cheaper. He told TechCrunch that work which once took a year to create 100 hours of content can now be completed in a day.

Pocket FM says more than 550,000 creators now produce roughly 2.5 million hours of AI-assisted audio a year. Its reported 12-month revenue retention climbed from 44% to 76% over two years. Both the production and retention figures come from the company.

The company is extending the approach to short-form video through Pocket Saga, which uses AI to adapt successful audio stories into microdramas.
