Google is testing purchases from Flipkart inside Gemini and AI Mode in India, according to September 26 reporting by TechCrunch. Some users see a Buy button on selected product listings and can continue into a Flipkart-branded checkout without leaving the AI interface.

The observed test covers a limited set of users and products, including electronics and mobile accessories. Others still receive ordinary listings without the purchase option. Google acknowledged that it tests new shopping experiences but did not confirm a broader launch schedule.

The checkout differs in appearance from the Google-hosted purchase flow previously demonstrated with the Universal Commerce Protocol. The report does not establish which technology powers this particular experiment, so it should not be presented as proof that every UCP integration supports the same experience.
