Clipto has raised $15 million in an all-equity round at a $250 million post-money valuation, TechCrunch reports. The startup makes videos, audio, images and other files searchable through natural-language descriptions.

Its software indexes material on a user’s computer, letting them retrieve existing footage or information instead of searching folders manually. Clipto recently added Model Context Protocol support so AI applications can query that index.

Founder Henry Kang says retrieval requires the user’s request and authorization and stays within the requested scope. He also says processing runs locally. The integration lets applications such as ChatGPT and Claude request selected information from the index.

The new investment will fund models and computing infrastructure for consumer hardware, along with connections to more AI agents. Investors include HSG, GL Ventures and EnvisionX Capital.
