Cursor announced Origin on August 17 as an early-beta code host inside its coding workspace. The Codebase tab brings repositories, pull requests and agents together: users can ask questions about code they are browsing or have an agent make changes, update a pull request or push a branch.

Origin distinguishes repositories it hosts from copies synchronized with GitHub. For a native Origin repository, pushes go directly to Cursor's host. For a synchronized repository, GitHub remains authoritative and Origin mirrors the result. Pull-request comments and reviews can move between the two interfaces.

The announcement lists Vercel, Depot and Buildkite integrations. Vercel supplies preview deployments for pull requests; Depot and Buildkite can run existing GitHub Actions workflows.

Cursor said the beta would roll out across paid plans, with enterprise administrators able to opt out.
