AWS’s August release roundup highlights AgentCore sessions that can run for up to 14 days on dedicated EC2 instances, including GPU-backed configurations. AWS positions those instances for multi-day coding, research and monitoring jobs.

The updates also add controls over agent actions. Temporal policies enforce prerequisites and approval sequences across tool calls. AgentCore Payments lets agents pay for APIs and other resources under infrastructure-enforced spending limits, while rate limits can constrain requests, tokens and connections.

GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra and Luna on Bedrock gained million-token context windows, prompt caching and web retrieval. Global inference profiles prioritize broader capacity; geographic profiles keep inference processing within a defined geography.

For robotics developers, Strands Robots connects Strands Agents, LeRobot and Hugging Face Storage Buckets for recording demonstrations, training policies and deploying to simulation or physical hardware. AWS describes its participation in the Model Hardware Standard as a limited research preview.
