Writer has launched Palmyra X6, a model post-trained from Z.ai’s GLM-5.2, alongside changes to the software that runs its agents. Both are becoming available to Writer customers on August 13.
The company says the combination can cut the cost of basic tasks by as much as 50%, according to TechCrunch’s launch report. That figure describes Writer’s combined deployment changes; it is not a model-only saving or a guaranteed reduction for every workload.
The updated execution system targets multi-step work completed with fewer tokens.
Palmyra X6 joins a model-agnostic service that also supports other Writer models and outside models accessed through Azure or Amazon Bedrock.
