Funes turns existing coding-agent session logs into searchable memory for Claude Code, Codex, pi and Hermes. Its September 3 announcement describes a local index that lets one agent retrieve the reasoning and failed approaches recorded by another.
Adding Funes to an agent installs recall and retrieval tools plus automatic indexing after completed turns. Results return original passages with their agent, session, timestamp and turn, so a developer can check the underlying exchange. New turns are indexed incrementally.
Embedding and reranking run locally. Retrieval combines keyword and vector search, then ranks the results again and adds neighboring context. It does not replace the original logs with a compressed list of asserted facts.
Memory can optionally sync to a Hugging Face dataset owned by the user and private by default. The project describes credential redaction and a second secret scan before upload, with the scanner’s limits documented separately.
