NVIDIA launched its Open Agent Safety Platform on September 28, combining software controls with a reference design for hardware-backed monitoring of agents. The two main pieces are OpenShell and Sentry. NVIDIA's announcement

OpenShell is open-source runtime software that places an enforceable boundary around an agent and traces its actions. NVIDIA says it works with open and closed models, is optimized for its Vera CPU, and can be extended to third-party compute including Arm and Intel platforms.

Sentry is different. It is a reference system design for an out-of-band watchdog running on BlueField-4 DPUs. NVIDIA says Sentry can monitor agent behavior from an isolated trust domain and quarantine an agent that moves outside its allowed software boundary.

OpenShell is broadly available software. A deployment does not automatically include the separate BlueField-based Sentry design.
